How to count down to your vacation
- Enter the date your trip starts and, if you know it, your flight or departure time.
- Give the countdown a name such as "Lisbon!" or "Disney trip".
- Watch it tick down live, and share the link with the people you are travelling with.
Anticipation is part of the fun
Research on happiness and travel has found that people often get as much joy from looking forward to a holiday as from the trip itself. A countdown on your phone or desktop keeps that anticipation going. It also helps with planning: check passports and visas at least two to three months ahead, arrange travel insurance when you book, sort out currency and roaming a week before, and start packing a few days in advance with the packing checklist.
The link contains the name and date, so friends and family can open the same countdown. Your date is also remembered in this browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
