How to count down to a birthday
- Enter the date of birth and, if you like, the person's name.
- Watch the live countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds to the next birthday, with the date and weekday it falls on.
- Use the share buttons or copy the page link to send the countdown to friends; the link opens with the same name and date.
- Tick Hide age before sharing if you would rather not reveal the year.
Fun facts and how it is calculated
The countdown targets midnight at the start of the next birthday in your own time zone, so it reaches zero when the day begins. If the birthday is today, it celebrates instead. Alongside the countdown you will see which birthday it will be, the weekday the person was born on, how many days old they are and their Western zodiac sign.
People born on 29 February (leaplings) only have a true birthday every four years. In common years this countdown uses 28 February, which is the most popular choice, although some people celebrate on 1 March; in some countries the legal birthday in a common year is 1 March. The date you enter is stored only in the page address so the link can be shared; nothing is sent to a server.
How many days until my birthday?

Can I share the countdown?
Yes. The link contains the name and date, so friends see the same live countdown.
What day of the week was I born?
It is shown under the countdown, unless you hide your age.
