What is zalgo text?
Zalgo text, also called cursed or glitch text, comes from an internet horror meme in which comics slowly "corrupted" into dripping, distorted letters. It is made with Unicode combining diacritical marks, the tiny accents normally used for letters like é or ñ. Stacking many of them on each letter makes the text look as if it is melting or glitching out of the page.
Zalgo is great for Halloween captions, horror game names, creepypasta, jokes and glitch aesthetics, but use it with care. Each letter carries many hidden characters, so short messages can hit character limits quickly, some apps trim or block the extra marks, and the overflow can cover nearby text.
