Italics without formatting buttons
Italics are traditionally used for book and film titles, foreign words, emphasis and quotes. Social networks and many apps strip formatting, so the generator replaces each letter with its italic counterpart from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. The result is plain text that looks italic and keeps its style when copied, in captions, bios, usernames and comments.
A few letters, such as the italic h, live in a different Unicode block, which this tool handles automatically so every letter appears. Accented letters and punctuation have no italic twin and stay upright. As with any Unicode styling, screen readers and search may not recognise styled words, so keep important information in normal text and use italics for flavour: a quote, a title, a whispered aside.

FAQ
How do I type italics on Instagram?
Copy italic text from here and paste it into the app.
Can I italicise in WhatsApp?
WhatsApp has its own formatting: put underscores around a word, like _this_. This tool also works there.
Why are some characters not italic?
Unicode only has italic versions of basic Latin letters and Greek letters, so accents and symbols stay normal.
