How to make cursive text
- Type your name, a quote or a caption.
- The script version appears first, followed by bold script and other styles.
- Copy it and paste it into your bio, username, post or message.
Where cursive text works
Cursive, or script, lettering adds elegance to Instagram and TikTok bios, Discord nicknames, wedding hashtags and quotes. The letters come from Unicode's mathematical script alphabet, so they display on almost all modern phones and computers and keep their look when copied. Bold script is easier to read at small sizes, so it is a good choice for usernames.
Unicode script letters are not joined like real handwriting; each letter is a separate character with curly strokes. For truly joined-up writing on an image, use our Text to Handwriting tool, which renders text in handwriting fonts. Some platforms, including a few games and older devices, may show empty boxes for these characters, and screen readers may not read them as words, so keep the important part of a profile in plain text.

FAQ
Can I use cursive in my Instagram name?
Yes, paste it into the Name field. Your @username only allows letters, numbers, dots and underscores.
Why do some phones show boxes?
Very old devices lack fonts for these characters.
Is this the same as a cursive font?
It looks similar, but uses Unicode characters, so it works without installing a font.
