How the Valentine's Day countdown works

  1. The big number shows the days left until Valentine's Day; the boxes below count down the hours, minutes and seconds live.
  2. Tap Share, Download card or Story size to post the countdown, or Copy link to send it.
  3. Open Change the event to count down to something else, such as a party or trip.

When is Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is on 14 February every year. It is named after Saint Valentine, and has been associated with romantic love since the Middle Ages. Today people exchange cards, flowers and chocolates, and restaurants are often fully booked on the evening itself.

Planning ahead pays off: popular restaurants take bookings three to four weeks in advance, florists raise prices in the final days, and cards sent by post should go out about a week before. If you are sending the countdown to your partner, use Copy link or Download card and share it in a message. For a countdown to an anniversary instead, change the event name and date and send the new link.
