How to use the online photo booth
- Tap Start camera and allow camera access. The preview is mirrored like a real booth.
- Press Take photos. A 3-2-1 countdown runs before each shot, with a flash, for three or four photos in a row.
- Choose a classic vertical strip, a three-photo strip or a 2 × 2 grid, and a filter: color, black and white, vintage or vivid.
- Add a caption and the date at the bottom, pick the frame color, and download the strip as a PNG.
No camera, or want to use photos you already have? Choose use photos from device and pick up to four pictures.
The photo strip trend
Photo booth strips started in the 1920s and never really went away: four candid frames on a narrow strip, taken in quick succession, capture a moment better than one posed photo. They are hugely popular again on Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, at weddings, birthdays, sleepovers and with friends who live far apart. Tips: plan four different poses (smile, silly, surprised, hug), face a window or lamp for even light, and hold your phone or laptop at eye level.
Privacy
The camera feed never leaves your device. Photos are captured into your browser's memory and composed with the Canvas API, and the camera is switched off when you stop it or leave the page. There is no account, no upload and no watermark.
Why doesn't the camera start?
Allow camera access when your browser asks. If you denied it before, change the permission in the site settings (the icon left of the address bar), then reload.
Can I print the strip?
Yes. A 4-photo strip is 660 pixels wide, which prints nicely at about 2 × 6 inches like a real booth strip.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. It uses the front camera on phones and tablets.
