How to add a border to a photo

  1. Drop one or more photos.
  2. Set the border width (as a percentage of the photo's shorter side, so it looks the same at any resolution) and pick white, black, cream, any colour or a blurred version of the photo itself.
  3. Optionally round the photo's corners, add a thicker bottom edge for a Polaroid look, a drop shadow, or put the photo on a square, 4:5 or 9:16 canvas.
  4. Download each photo, or all of them as a ZIP with the same settings.

Why add a border?

A simple white border is the classic way to post photos on Instagram without cropping: put a landscape or portrait shot on a 4:5 or square canvas and it shows in full in the feed, with a clean gallery feel. Borders also help photos stand out on busy backgrounds, give prints a frame-like margin, and keep a consistent look across a series. A blurred-photo background, popular on stories, fills the frame with the photo's own colours.

The border is added on a canvas at the photo's full resolution, so no detail is lost, and JPG quality is kept high (93%). Choose PNG if you want lossless output. All processing happens in your browser: your photos are never uploaded.

How do I post a full photo on Instagram without cropping?

Choose Portrait 4:5 or Square, a white border, and upload the result.

Can I add borders to many photos at once?

Yes. Drop several and download all as a ZIP with the same border.

Is the image quality reduced?

No. The photo is kept at full size; only the border is added.
