How to take the CPS test
- Choose how long the test lasts: 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.
- Click or tap the big button as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click.
- When time is up you see your clicks per second (CPS), total clicks and personal best. Share your score and challenge friends.
What is a good clicks-per-second score?
Most people click about 6 to 7 times per second with a normal single-finger click. Gamers who use special techniques go much higher: jitter clicking, tensing the arm so the finger vibrates, reaches 10 to 14 CPS, and butterfly clicking, alternating two fingers on one button, can exceed 15–20 CPS, while drag clicking can register even more by sliding a finger across the button. Short tests give higher scores than long ones, because speed drops as your hand tires.
CPS matters in games like Minecraft PvP, where faster clicking means more hits, and in clicker and idle games. Mouse hardware affects results: switches with a short travel help, and some mice have debounce settings that ignore very fast double clicks. Take breaks: very fast clicking for long periods can strain your hand and wrist. Scores are calculated and stored only in your browser.
What is the average CPS?
About 6–7 clicks per second with normal clicking.
What is the world record for CPS?
Records claimed with drag clicking exceed 40 CPS, though they depend on hardware and are hard to verify.
Is jitter clicking bad for your hand?
Doing it for long periods can cause strain. Keep sessions short and stop if it hurts.
