How to create an invoice

  1. Enter your business details and the client's details, the invoice number, dates and currency. Add your logo if you have one.
  2. Add a line for each product or service with quantity, unit price and tax rate (VAT, GST or sales tax). Add a discount or shipping if needed.
  3. Write payment instructions in the notes, such as bank details, payment terms or a thank-you message.
  4. Check the preview and press Print / Save as PDF. Choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog to email the invoice. New invoice increments the number for the next one.

What a professional invoice should include

A clear invoice gets paid faster. Include a unique, sequential invoice number; the issue date and a due date; your business name and contact details (and tax or VAT number where required); the client's name and address; an itemised list with quantities and prices; any tax shown separately; the total amount due in the right currency; and how to pay. Many countries have specific legal requirements for VAT invoices, so check the rules where you are registered.

Totals are calculated per line. A percentage discount is applied to the subtotal, and tax is calculated on the discounted amounts, which is how most tax authorities expect it. Amounts are rounded to cents and formatted for the selected currency in your locale. Your details are saved only in this browser so the next invoice is quicker, and nothing is uploaded or stored on a server: no account, watermark or limit.

How do I save the invoice as a PDF?

Press Print and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination. Only the invoice is printed.

Can I use different tax rates per line?

Yes. Each line has its own tax percentage, for example 20% VAT on services and 0% on exempt items.

Is my data stored anywhere?

Only in your browser's local storage on this device, so you can continue later.
