Sort, dedupe, shuffle, number and trim lines

How to sort, deduplicate and clean up lines

  1. Paste your list into the box, one item per line: names, emails, keywords, URLs, product codes or anything else.
  2. Press an operation button. Sort alphabetically, naturally (so "item 2" comes before "item 10"), by length, reverse, shuffle, remove duplicates or empty lines, trim spaces, number the lines, or count how often each line appears.
  3. For prefix, suffix, filtering, joining and splitting, type the text in the box first. For example, add a prefix of - to make a Markdown list, join lines with , to make a comma-separated list, or split a comma-separated list back into lines.
  4. Chain several operations, use Undo if needed, then copy or download the result.

Handy recipes

Sorting uses your language's alphabetical rules, so accented letters sort where readers expect. With Ignore case, "Apple" and "apple" count as duplicates and sort together. Lists of hundreds of thousands of lines are processed instantly, all inside your browser.

How do I remove duplicate lines but keep the original order?

Press Remove duplicates without sorting first. The first occurrence of each line is kept in place.

Why does 10 sort before 2?

Plain alphabetical sorting compares character by character. Use Natural sort to order numbers by value.

Can I use tabs or new lines as separators?

Yes. Type \t for a tab or \n for a new line in the separator box.
