How to change text case
- Type or paste your text into the box.
- Press a case button. The text is converted in place, so you can try several styles; press Undo to step back.
- Press Copy to put the result on your clipboard.
Which case is which?
- UPPERCASE and lowercase change every letter.
- Title Case capitalises the main words of a headline but keeps short words such as "a", "and", "of" and "the" lower case unless they start or end the title, following the common rules of AP and Chicago style.
- Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence (and the word "I"), the style most websites and apps now use for headings and buttons.
- Capitalize Each Word capitalises every word, including small ones.
- camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and dot.case are programming styles for variables, functions, file names, URLs and environment variables. Each line is converted separately, so you can convert a list of names at once.
- aLtErNaTiNg and InVeRsE are for fun (and the "mocking SpongeBob" meme).
Proper nouns cannot be detected automatically, so after converting to sentence case, check names of people and places. Letters with accents and non-Latin scripts that have case, such as Greek and Cyrillic, are converted correctly. Everything happens in your browser.
How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?
Paste it here and press Sentence case, then fix any names that should stay capitalised.
What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalize Each Word?
Title Case leaves small words such as "of", "and" and "the" in lower case in the middle of a title; Capitalize Each Word capitalises everything.
Can I convert variable names between styles?
Yes. Paste one name per line, for example user_first_name, and press camelCase to get userFirstName.
