Invisible Character

Copy blank characters and detect hidden ones

Copies the chosen character this many times (useful for blank messages and spacing).

Test or remove invisible characters

How to copy an invisible character

  1. Pick a blank character from the list. The Hangul Filler (U+3164) works in the most places, including game names and social profiles.
  2. Set Repeat if you need several in a row, then press Copy.
  3. Paste it wherever you need an empty-looking name, message, bio line or caption spacing.
  4. If one app rejects it, try another character: each platform filters different ones.

Where people use invisible text

Many apps refuse empty fields or trim normal spaces, so a character that looks blank but is not a space is a handy workaround. Common uses include a blank or "invisible" name in games and Discord, an empty-looking message on WhatsApp, extra line breaks in Instagram captions and bios (the Braille blank works well there), centring text in social profiles and keeping two words together on one line with a no-break space.

Platforms change their rules over time, and some games and sites ban blank names, so results vary. Please use invisible characters for fun and formatting, not to impersonate others or evade moderation.

Finding hidden characters

Invisible characters also cause real bugs: a zero-width space copied from a web page breaks a password, a URL or a spreadsheet lookup; a byte-order mark breaks a CSV header; non-breaking spaces stop text from matching. Paste text into the tester to highlight every hidden character with its code, then remove them all with one click. Everything happens in your browser.

What is the invisible character for names?

The Hangul Filler, U+3164 (ㅤ), is the most widely accepted invisible character for usernames because apps treat it as a letter, not a space.

How do I send a blank message?

Copy a Zero Width Space or the Braille Pattern Blank and send it on its own. Some apps block it; try another character if needed.

How do I remove zero-width spaces from text?

Paste the text into the tester and press "Remove all invisible characters". Non-breaking spaces are replaced with normal spaces.
