About emoji
Emoji are standard Unicode characters, just like letters, so they can be pasted into almost any app. This picker includes the full current emoji set of over 1,900 base emoji, with official Unicode names and extra search keywords, so you can find 🥳 by typing "party" or 💸 by typing "money". Recently used emoji are remembered in your browser for quick access.
How an emoji looks depends on the device: Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung each draw their own designs, so a face can appear slightly different to the person you send it to. Very new emoji may show as an empty box on older phones and computers until they are updated. Skin tone variants and some combined emoji (such as family groups) are built from several characters joined together, so they count as more than one character in limits like X's 280.
On a computer you can also open the built-in emoji panel with Windows key + full stop on Windows or Control + Command + Space on a Mac. This page works on any device, and nothing you select is sent anywhere.
