How to use the Wordle solver
- Type the word you guessed in Wordle and press Add guess.
- Tap each letter tile until its colour matches the game: grey for letters not in the word, yellow for letters in the word but in the wrong spot, green for the right letter in the right spot.
- The list of possible answers updates instantly, with the most likely words first, and the solver suggests a strong next guess.
- Repeat after each guess. Most puzzles narrow down to one word within three or four guesses.
How the solver ranks words
The solver checks every five-letter English word against all of your clues, including the tricky rules for repeated letters: if you guessed "SPEED" and one E is yellow while the other is grey, the answer contains exactly one E. It then scores the remaining words by how common their letters are among the other candidates, both overall and in each position, so the top suggestion is the word most likely to give you new information. Plurals ending in S and words with repeated letters are pushed down, because Wordle answers rarely use them. Common words are listed before rarer ones.
Tips for solving Wordle
- Start with a word rich in common letters, such as CRANE, SLATE, TRACE or AROSE.
- When many candidates remain, guess a word that tests several unknown letters at once, even if it cannot be the answer.
- Watch for double letters: words like LLAMA, VIVID and EERIE trip up many players.

Is using a Wordle solver cheating?
