Random Card Generator

Draw random playing cards from a shuffled deck

How to draw a random card

  1. Choose how many cards to draw, from one to five, and whether to include the two jokers.
  2. Press Draw. Cards are dealt from a freshly shuffled deck, so cards drawn together never repeat.
  3. Recent draws are listed below; share a result to challenge someone to guess it.

Uses and odds

A random card is handy when the real deck is missing pieces, for party games such as "higher or lower", for magic tricks where the audience picks a card, for writing and drawing prompts, and for maths lessons about probability. In a standard 52-card deck each card has a 1 in 52 chance (about 1.9%). You have a 1 in 4 chance of a particular suit, a 1 in 13 chance of a particular rank such as an ace (about 7.7%) and a 3 in 13 chance of a face card (jack, queen or king).

Draw two cards and the chance of a pair is 1 in 17; draw five and you can compare with poker hand probabilities. Every draw uses your browser's cryptographically secure random generator with unbiased selection, so no card is favoured. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
