Resize and watermark photos in a batch

Resize a whole batch of photos to one size, such as 1080 × 1350 for an Instagram portrait post, stamp the same text or logo watermark on every one, compress them and download a single ZIP. Phone photos come out the right way up, and the location and camera details stored in the originals are not copied into the new files.

Every step runs in your browser; your files are not uploaded.

Steps

  1. Resize every photo to the same size

Drop the whole batch. The size starts at 1080 × 1350 (Instagram portrait, 4:5); the buttons switch to 1080 × 1440 (3:4, the tallest shape Instagram keeps), 1080 × 1080, 1080 × 1920 for stories or 1080 × 566 landscape, or type any width and height. Crop to fill trims the edges equally so nothing is letterboxed; Fit inside keeps the whole picture and adds bars in the colour you pick. Photos are decoded the right way up from their EXIF orientation and scaled with a Lanczos3 filter. Press Download to send every resized photo on.

  2. Stamp the watermark

Type your name or website, or switch to Logo image and choose a transparent PNG. The size is a share of each photo's width, so the mark looks the same on every photo in the batch. A corner mark at 40–60% opacity is discreet; Tiled across image is the hardest to crop out. The preview shows the first photo; Download applies the same settings to all of them.

  3. Compress for upload

The photos are saved as JPEG at quality 85, which keeps them sharp at 1080 px while cutting the file size. The table shows each file before and after. Press Download all to send them on.

  4. Download one ZIP

Name the archive and press Create ZIP. JPEGs are already compressed, so they are stored as they are and the ZIP only keeps the batch together.

FAQ

What size should Instagram portrait photos be?

1080 pixels wide. Instagram's help centre says it keeps photos between 1.91:1 and 3:4, which at 1080 pixels wide means a height between 566 and 1440 pixels. 1080 × 1350 (4:5) is the long-standing portrait size, and 1080 × 1440 (3:4) is the tallest Instagram now keeps without cropping.

Can I watermark 100 photos at once?

Yes. Every step takes the whole batch with the same settings. In our test, resizing, watermarking and compressing 100 twelve-megapixel photos took about 25 seconds on a recent laptop; phones take longer and may run out of memory on very large batches.

Will my phone photos come out sideways?

No. Photos are read using their EXIF orientation tag, so portrait shots stay portrait.

Is the location removed from my photos?

Yes. Every step draws the pixels into a new file, so GPS location and camera details are not copied over.
