Text to Word (Markdown to DOCX): Turn text, Markdown or a chat assistant's answer into a Word document. Input: Text you type or paste and values you enter. Output: Results shown on the page and a downloaded file. Privacy: Runs in your browser: inputs and files stay on your device and are not uploaded.

How to convert text or Markdown to Word

  1. Paste or type your text in the box. Markdown is understood: # Heading, **bold**, *italic*, `code`, - bullets, 1. numbered lists, [links](https://…), pipe tables and fenced code blocks.
  2. Check the preview below: it shows the headings, lists and tables the Word file will contain.
  3. Pick a font, font size and page size (A4, US Letter or Legal).
  4. Press Download .docx. The file is named after your first heading and opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages and LibreOffice.

Copying a chat assistant's answer into Word

Answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and similar assistants are usually written in Markdown. Pasted straight into Word, that often turns into stray asterisks and hash signs, or loses the numbered lists and tables. Use the assistant's copy button, paste the result here and download the .docx: headings become Word heading styles, lists become real bulleted and numbered lists, tables become Word tables with a header row, and code keeps a monospace font. If you copy formatted text from a web page instead, the formatting is read from the clipboard and written as Markdown in the box, so you can still edit it before downloading.

What gets converted

Headings use Word's built-in Heading 1 to Heading 6 styles, so the navigation pane and an automatic table of contents work straight away. Bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code and links are kept, nested lists keep their levels, and column alignment in Markdown tables is respected. Text without any Markdown is treated as plain text: blank lines start new paragraphs and single line breaks are kept. Images, footnotes and HTML inside Markdown are not converted.

The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, and your last draft and settings are saved only in this browser so you can come back to them.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The Word file is built on your device; nothing you paste is sent to a server.

How do I keep ChatGPT formatting when copying into Word?

Copy the answer with the assistant's copy button (which gives Markdown), paste it here and download the .docx. Headings, bold text, lists and tables arrive as real Word formatting.

Can I convert a .md file?

Yes. Open the Markdown file in any text editor, copy its contents and paste them into the box.

Does it work with Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs, or use File → Open → Upload inside Docs.
