How to combine keyword lists
- Put one group of words in each list, one per line: for example modifiers (buy, cheap, best), products (running shoes, trail shoes) and locations or qualifiers (online, uk).
- Every combination is generated instantly, in list order: "buy running shoes online", "cheap trail shoes uk" and so on. Tick All word orders to add every permutation too.
- Choose match types: broad, "phrase" (in quotes) or [exact] (in brackets), the syntax used by Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising.
- Copy the list into your ad group or download a CSV with a match-type column for bulk upload.
When a keyword mixer helps
Building keyword lists by hand for pay-per-click campaigns is slow and error-prone. A mixer (also called a keyword permutation or concatenation tool) lets you cover every sensible combination of products, intent words and locations in seconds, which is especially useful for local service businesses ("plumber" × city names), e-commerce catalogues and multilingual campaigns. It is also handy for SEO content planning, to brainstorm long-tail variations you can check in a keyword research tool.
Be selective with the output: not every combination is something people search for. Remove nonsense phrases, check search volume, and group closely related keywords into tight ad groups so your ads stay relevant. Since 2021, Google's phrase match also covers what broad match modifier used to do, so the +modifier syntax is no longer needed.
Everything runs in your browser and your lists are kept only on your device.
What is the difference between broad, phrase and exact match?
Broad match can show your ad for related searches. Phrase match ("…") requires the meaning of the phrase, and exact match […] targets searches with the same meaning as the keyword.
How many keywords can it generate?
Up to 20,000 combinations at once. Larger sets are usually a sign the lists need to be split into separate ad groups.
Are duplicates removed?
Yes. Duplicate entries in each list and duplicate combinations are removed automatically.
