In Belgium the tax is called TVA / BTW. To add 21%, multiply the net price by 1.21: €100.00 becomes €121.00. To remove it, divide the gross price by 1.21: €100.00 including VAT is €82.64 net plus €17.36 VAT. A common mistake is to take 21% off the gross price, which removes too much; the VAT share of a gross price is 21/121, or 17.36%.

Belgian invoices must show the VAT number of the supplier and, for business customers, of the customer too. Many Belgian rates have specific conditions, so check the official list for borderline items.

Standard and reduced rates checked on 20 October 2026 against the FPS Finance (SPF Finances / FOD Financiën). Rates can change with each budget; the rate box is editable if a change takes effect.
