Video Speed Changer

Speed up or slow down a video and save it, in your browser

🔒 Your video never leaves your device. It is processed in your browser.

How to speed up or slow down a video

  1. Drop a video file onto the box or tap to choose one from your phone or computer.
  2. Pick a speed: 2× or 4× to speed up a tutorial, timelapse or long screen recording, or 0.5× and 0.25× for slow motion. Type any value from 0.1× to 16× for something exact.
  3. Press Preview speed to watch it at that speed first. Keep Keep voice pitch natural ticked so voices do not sound like chipmunks, or untick it for the classic sped-up effect.
  4. Choose the resolution and format, press Change speed, and download the new file.

How it works

The video is played inside your browser at the chosen speed while its frames and sound are recorded into a new file, so the result really is shorter or longer, ready to post on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or a presentation. Because it records in real time, processing takes as long as the new video: a 10-minute clip at 2× takes about 5 minutes, while slow motion takes longer than the original. Keep the tab visible while it works.

Slow motion made this way repeats frames rather than inventing new ones, so very slow speeds look stepped unless the clip was filmed at a high frame rate. Browsers mute sound above 4×, which matches most timelapse use. Nothing is uploaded, there is no watermark and no size limit beyond your device's memory, which makes it suitable for private family videos and work recordings.

Will the audio change pitch?

Not by default. The browser keeps voices at their natural pitch. Untick the option for the chipmunk or deep slow-motion effect.

Why does it take so long?

The new video is recorded as it plays, so processing takes about as long as the result. Speeding up is faster than slowing down.

Can I get MP4?

Yes in Chrome, Edge and Safari. Firefox can only create WebM, which plays on most sites and apps.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your device.
